Yonah Mountain

Belonging to a local hiking club gives us the opportunity to explore new areas every week. We are just amazed at all the different places to hike and visit.  We are so fortunate to be living in such a beautiful area.  This week we climbed Yonah Mountain.  The trail was in an old growth forest along a stream with humongous rock outcroppings.  The top of the mountain was an open large bald.  I felt like singing "the hills are alive with the sound of music"...but instead just stood in amazement taking in the warm sun and views.  The wildflowers are out in all their glory.  I'm gradually learning their names.  Enjoying another beautiful day in the mountains.

LUCKY DAY!

Early this morning I was walking around in the yard enjoying the morning.  I saw a patch of clover and decided to check it out and see if I could find any 4 leaf clovers.  I can't tell you how many times during childhood and as an adult that I have looked for those lucky 4 leaf clovers with no success.  Within 5 minutes I not only found 1, but 4 of those LUCKY clovers.  Maybe I should go out and buy a lottery ticket!

A LAZY DAY

I know they are a nasty weed, but a field of dandelions are really pretty when they are in bloom. They will be dug up, but I just couldn't resist taking these adorable photos.
It's great to be LAZY!

LIFE IS GOOD...

It was great to wake up in my own bed. A cool breeze came through the windows as I listened to the birds welcome a new day.  Life is good...

CHANGE

Change really takes place when you're away from the house for 2 1/2 weeks...especially during spring when everything is coming alive.  We left with only buds and flowering trees, but came back to trees with leaves and budding/blooming flowers.  Thankfully we were still able to see our flowering dogwood trees.  I wish the 2 1/2 weeks could have been captured on time elapsed photography!
Everyday is a surprise in my garden.  I never know what will be popping through the soil or blooming.  I still have not learned all the names of the many flowers that are now showing they're spring beauty.  A great learning process.  Iris' are not only beautiful they are very fragrant.

Spring Is Blooming

I think spring is finally here.  We have lots of flowers blooming in the yard.
The sun is shinning and I have a nice tan on my face and legs!
We spent the day spreading a truck load of mulch in one of our many flower beds.
It so nice to finally feel the warm sun on my face.
I hope you are enjoying spring as much as we are.

I made it through the winter
I love having my feet free in a pair of sandals
having a tan line
yeah...my legs are finally showing
I don't like the age spots, but there's nothing
I can do about that!

A beautiful ending to a beautiful day.
I hope your day was as great as mine.
